The
Model A style
The club, Model As of
Greater Orlando, has about 150 members. We participate in many of the
parades in the Orlando area including the Citrus Bowl parade and the
Veterans Day parade to mention a few. The club also visits several
Nursing and Assisted Living Homes. Annually, we have what we call the
model A Olympics; this is where we do different types of games while
driving the model As. Each year the games are different so we don’t have
the same winners each year. The games have been held at Ron and Shirley
Hood’s place, in there front pasture, for the last 3 years. We replace
the horses with other old means of transportation. The days event started
out with a picnic style meal and a very brief monthly meeting, and then
on to the games. Fun is had by all including those watching the games.
This is one of the most looked forward to events of the club. As you
can see in the photos, these are all very nicely restored vehicles.
