Model A Club of

Model A Olympics
To bad the weather was
complicated by Tropical Storm Arlene!
We were invited out to the
"Model A Olympics" at Ron and Shirley's R&S Ranch. It was also the
monthly meeting of the club. It was truly a field of Dreams. These
dreams are of days gone by.
This group of eccentric people
are sure a lot of fun to be around. Well, I am not sure if eccentric is
the right word. I was told by more than on member that you had to be
rich to be eccentric. They told me that they weren't rich so they were
just plain Crazy. Crazy for these old cars! That is. What a display of
Historical Automobiles. All of the Model A's were driven to the event.
Some from over 45 miles.
22 model "A"s and 2 Model T's
were in the field behind Ron and Shirley's house. 33 family's and a few
guest came out to the picnic lunch, meeting and Olympics
I am not quite sure what the
games that they were playing but it sure looked like fun. I was asked by
Al Wendling if I would like to be the navigator in one of the "Blind
Run's". I told him that I am prone to addiction to old cars and if I
would have gotten into one of these cars I would have to have one and
right now I could not afford one.
It is amazing to see these cars
go through their paces during this event. It is easy to forget that this
was it as far as cars went back then. Many of these members, with these
cars cruise with us on Wed-Thur-and Saturday nights. Linda and I didn't
stay for the results of the event. Aggie reports the following about the
