Veterans Day Celebration
Car Show at the Citrus Tower
Clermont, Florida

We took a little trip to the Citrus Tower in nearby Clermont for the 6th Annual Veterans Celebration Car show, sponsored by the Korean War Veterans of Lake County Chapter #188. This has also turned into an annual event for Linda and I. This year we brought along Tony and Sharon in their '69 Ranchero. It was a nice ride through what used to be some of the most scenic country side Central Florida has to offer.

This year we arrived at 10:30, this was early, we thought. There had already been 143 cars register before we got there. Butch and Jennifer were already set up and playing music over WJBJ Radio. Lots of Tents were scattered about and all of the shade was occupied. This is always a good show for a great cause.

There were many familiar faces and cars all shined up and ready for the judging. Jack & Donna had the elusive Willys parked next to Gary & Kathy's Fairlane. Louie & Linda brought out the Tiki Mobile. Paul Schwartz had his DeSoto parked near the front of the Tower and he and Pat had a very nice shady spot staked out.

The Latin Cruisers were out in full force with some great cars. A very nice display of Vintage Military equipment was on display in the yard.

"The Dukes of Harmony" came on stage at 1:00 for their first set, just after the "Fly Over". 3;45 marked the closing ceremonies and final drawings along with a tree auction. Plaques were awared to the "Top 40" and other special awards. The 50/50 had a single $604 winner and the second ticket took home a Yamaha Surround Sound system.

Shortly after 4:15 we cranked up the only 2 Ranchero's that attended the event and headed home.

This is always a great event, it will be on our calendar for next year.

Here are a few photos....
