In Memorial to
John Pignataro
Fellow Cruiser

Born December 3rd, 1941

Died February 2nd, 2008

John Joseph Pignataro died February 2nd, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Although John lived the past 10 years of his life enjoying the mild climate of Ocala, Florida, he originally hailed from Worcester, Massachusetts.

Born December 3rd, 1941 to parents George and Jane Pignataro, John lived in the North End of Worcester and attended North High, graduating in 1959. He worked for several years with his father at Gallo Oldsmobile selling cars on Shrewsbery Street where his lifelong love of cars began. He was a regular at Speedy’s Drive-In during its heydey. During the Vietnam era he served in the Army national Guard.

In 1962 he began his career at the General Motors plant in Framingham, Massachusetts working as an assembler. He remained with GM until he retired 30 years later. During that time he raised his children John and Angela together with his wife Lucia (née Berti) in Sutton, Massachusetts.

John’s interests ranged from antique cars to world travel, especially cruises, but he was also a movie-lover and an RV enthusiast. He and his second wife Sandi Pignataro (née Bennett) recently enjoyed a cruise through Europe which began and ended in Italy, the place of his forefathers.

Since moving to Florida, on any given Saturday night you could find John and Sandi with their many friends at Old Town in Kissimmee enjoying the car show, the live 50’s music and the dancing.

John is survived by his wife Sandi Pignataro of Ocala, Florida, his son John Pignataro of Auburn, Massachusetts, and his daughter Angela Nummy of Winslow, Maine, as well as by his four beautiful grandchildren.

Sandi and John would like to extend their love and thanks to the many family and friends who visited him and helped them in the last weeks of his life. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the American Cancer Society.

This was taken from the http://inmemoryofjohn.org/ website that his wife, Sandi, put together in his Memory.
