Manire

Urban Legend or merely a creative spin on answers to the obvious?

Anyway I would like to share with all of you a few photos that were taken during the World Space Expo at the Kennedy Space Center on November 2, 2007. Our resident "Astronaut", Dennis Manire and his better half Cindy attended with their 2 Corvettes. Cindy & Dennis started the 63-67 Corvette Registry and approved by GM in November 1997, the 63-67 Sting Ray Registry's purpose is to maintain a centralized database and to promote the Mid-Year Corvette. Stop by the site at www.63-67corvette.com and check it out.

When you see one of their cars at an event, have Dennis share some of the stories that seem to perpetuate this "Urban Legend".

On to the photos

Dennis Manire, Seen here giving Apollo 15 astronaut Al Warden "pre-flight" instructions on his 63 Corvette Grand Sport, as John Glenn and his wife Anna hang on tight for lift- off.

Scott Carpenter, the second American to orbit the earth and his wife Rene arrive at the World Space Expo at the Kennedy Space Center on November 2, 2007. The 67 Corvette is owned by Dennis and Cindy Manire from Titusville Florida and driven by Jon McBride, pilot of the STS-41-G Challenger space shuttle. Scott Carpenter is currently 82 years old.

Thank you Dennis & Cindy for letting me share these photos here.
